Photo Booths

At the party last night, the hosts had carted in a photo booth for shits and giggles. Apparently you can rent these things. This particular booth, the guy who was running it said, was one of the State Fair booths. This is what picture booths do in the off-season.

This is one of our shots.

Nauseating, isn't it?

Go and run to the bathroom. I'll wait while you vomit.

Heheheh.

Anyway, the husband, as it turns out, was a photo booth virgin. There wasn't a booth in the small town in Iowa where he grew up, so he'd never had the experience before. When he told me this my jaw about dropped. I thought everyone had experienced this at one time or another.

This just goes to show how different city and country life are when it comes to the little things. I knew, as did all of my friends, where every booth was in every mall we frequented. A stop by a booth---and the subesequent cramming of five teenage girls into the thing---was a highlight of every solo shopping trip we managed to take. It was one of those silly, everyday sorts of things common to where you live, I guess. The husband didn't have that because his town was too small to rate a photo booth.

So, I suppose it's not really a surprise that he'd go for the make-out shot, is it? He completely caught me off-guard, too. But it was nice nonetheless.

Cute and very romantic!
When my kids were little but old enough to get around we went to a Big Mall in Albuquerque. The most exciting part was the moving stairs. I think we spent at least an hour going up and down. I'd never realized that Gallup didn't have escalators. Our highest building, aside from the Cathedral's Bell tower is about 5 stories.
I guess that when they talk about standardized tests and how some of them cause problems for kids from small towns or farm towns, it's really true. Of course the same could be true for "cow tipping" for the Big city kids!
And long ago I served coffee to Leon Russell in Tulsa, OK. The most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. Kitty

This might be a strange question but we are having a wedding in Waterloo Ioaw May 27th 2006 and we want to have an old fashioned photobooth there, and I am having a hard time finding anything close to affordable. I saw your post by searching google and thought you might have some more information on the booth you were in or if you know of some places to look.

Thanks! markleonard@velocitusbroadband.net

PS GREAT SITE!

Thanks for the compliment, Mark, but I have no idea what to tell you about where to find a photo booth for rent. All I know about it is what I listed up above.

Good luck and congratulations!
