Dude!

Holy Crap! Doug's back!

And it's a good thing, too, because way back in July, he linked to my baldie picture---and then had the gall not to post anything for six months, meaning that I was still getting hits from that damn post until a few days ago, when it, mercifully, was pushed down the page.

Despite this egregious error, I'm nonetheless glad to have him back at the keyboard. If for no other reason than I can give him loads of shit about Nebraska's faltering football program.

Heh.

Nebraska's faltering football program? Two words for you: Bo. Pelini. I can't wait for next fall.

And when do we get a new picture of your now presumably non-bald head? I'm picturing you with Shirley Temple curls at the moment. Prove me wrong!

Yeah, but Bo's gotta deal with Callahan's recruiting. That's not going to be a lot of fun. Particularly with Osborne---and every single Nebraska fan---breathing down his neck. I almost feel sorry for the guy. Almost.

As far as the hair is concerned, well, apparently you think hair grows faster than it does in actuality. I'm nowhere near Shirley Temple length, let alone those sorts of curls. I've got more of a Sling Blade thing going on right now---it's sticking up at odd angles. Only copious amounts of alcohol will prompt me to actually pose for a picture, let alone post it.

I'm picturing Kathy right now with more of a "Kid & Play" high top fade, but that's just me.

As far as Nebraska football goes, let's remember that all of Callahan's recruits were brought in to run the "Mid-west coast" offense, and Pellini strikes me as more of a traditional Nebraska "Power I" formation coach. I think he'll be able to rebuild Nebraska from what Callahan did to them, but he'll either have to roll the dice on a whole shitload of juco talent or trust the fanbase to be patient for two or three years of losing football.

Considering that half the population of Nebraska was ready to climb their closest water tower with a deer hunting rifle at the end of last season, I'd put my money on seeing Pellini go the juco route.
