This is The Part Where My Former Russian Teacher Laughs Her Ass Off

Is there one of you, my devoted Cake Eater Readers, who reads Russian and can tell me why I'm, apparently, getting a fair number of hits from this site?

I'm completely serious, too.

There's a four credit 'F' in Russian 101 on my college transcript for a reason, kids.

An "F" in Russian. For shame. ;-)

It is not a well designed site, but it appears to be some sort of quasi-official organization of furniture sellers and importers. I can't fathom why you are getting hits from there, but they do run message boards, so maybe someone who works there is surfing from work. Do you have a furniture business on the side?

The main advertiser has a name so stupid I can't believe it. Remember in Russian that the middle name is a form of the father's name? So a guy named Ivan whose father is also named Ivan is not Ivan Jr., but Ivan Ivanovich or Ivan Ivanich? Well, the word for "sofa" in Russian is "Divan", so the store is caleed "Divan Divanich". Friggin' second rate furniture marketers are as stupid in Russia as they are here.

Oh, yeah, the word for furniture in Russian is "Mebel'", hence the site name.

I'd use the Russian words for "thank you" but I can't remember what the hell they are, so English will have to do! Thanks!

(As you can tell, I earned that 'F'---it was no fluke.)
