I was appalled the first time I saw it. But having seen it again, I now think that it is brilliant. William Macy shines and Steve Buscemi ...stumbles. A windshield ice scraper is important, in two different scenes! Because I liked it so much I watched the other films that the Coen brothers have made and am now a real big fan of theirs (excepting the stinker, "O Brother, Where Art Thou").

I'd say anybody who didn't like Fargo could be deemed normal. The Coen brothers are an acquired taste. Their movies are not mainstream movies with a broad appeal. They are cult movies. I mean you either like movies like Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski and The Ladykillers or you don't. Can't blame you don't like them, but I will check out their next movie.

What you have like about Fargo is all the sophisticated dialouge: ya, ya, ya, ya.

Normally I'm a big Coen Brothers Fan. I think Raising Arizona and Miller's Crossing are two of the best movies ever. I just thought Fargo was such a waste of time.

I loved it. But like kemp, I didn't know what to make of it the first time I saw it.
